World-class wines and artworks intersect at The Donum Estate, whose 220 acres are the pastoral backdrop for more than 50 monumental pieces by the likes of Richard Hudson, Yayoi Kusama, Keith Haring and Ai Weiwei. (The latter’s “Zodiac Heads,” 12 bronze sculptures installed in a circle, are depicted on the labels of the Sonoma winery’s single-vineyard, single-appellation pinot noir.)
Guests can book various experiences—starting at $125 per person—that allow for tastings as well as tours of the property, on foot or in an ATV. The Donum Collection Art Tour, with no sips, is $95 per person.
In fall 2022, The Donum Estate inaugurated its most exclusive offering yet. The Transcend Experience includes a tasting (wine and food) in the Vertical Panorama Pavilion, designed by Olafur Eliasson and Sebastian Behmann, as well as a visit with the chef at the culinary garden and an ATV tour that allows for up-close viewing of the Donum Collection.
It’s no longer just Donum wine that guests can enjoy at home. Drawing on the “gifts of the land,” The Donum Home Collection launched in March. The curated and artisan-crafted goods, derived from the property itself, include items made with lavender, honey, olives and wool.
The maldon sea salt flakes are infused with estate-grown organic lavender, the olive oil is produced from estate-grown organic olives and the handmade blankets are sewn from the wool of Donum sheep. The collection’s introduction coincided with the winery receiving Regenerative Organic Certified status for its four estate vineyards.
